Title: Apple Strudel 2

3 Apples slice thin or grate
1cSugar
1/2cRaisins
1/2cChopped nuts
  Cinnamon
  Grated rind of lemon
6tsButter
1cBread crumbs

Prepare and measure all ingredients. Mix everything together. Melt the butter or shortening. Open package and unfold leaves carefully. Place one leaf on damp cloth. Paint leaf lightly with melted butter. Use pastry brush. Sprinkle with dry bread crumbs or crushed corn flakes. Place second leaf directly onver first leaf. Paint second leaf with butter and sprinkle with bread crumbs or crushed corn flakes. Mix sliced apples, buts, raisins, cinnamon and sugar. Place mixture on edge of dough nearest you in one strip. Roll like jelly with aid of napkin. Place strudel on buttered tin and paint top lightly with melted butter. Mark individual portions with a sharp knife. Bake in hot oven, 350 to 400 degrees F. for about 35 minutes until golden brown. Cut in portions while still warm. CHERRY STRUDEL: 2 Heaping cups pitted cherries, fresh or canned 1 Cup sugar 1 Cup dry bread crumbs 6 Tablespoons melted butter Follow recipe for Apple Strudel, substituting cherries for apples, raisins, and cinnamon.
